Weekend plans

Welcome again. I hope that all of you found your way from the carepages. As I was thinking about going to the RUF reunion in Clemson this weekend I was obvisously thinking a lot about Shannon and the times that we spent there. I then started thinking about creating some memories from Shannon's earlier days before the boys. As most of you know my memory is about as poor as it gets so if any of you would feel confortable positng or emailing me some of your favorite Shannon memories I would love to keep them to share with the boys so that they can know what a special legacy they cary on. I would also love some pictures as I can not seem to find many from my time at Clemson.

Anyway, I think that this is more than I have ever written in one day (dissertation included) so I will say good night and Love you all!

Hey Tom. This is Gina Williams A friend of Shannon's from St. Marks. Our kids were in school together there. I was at the service but did not get a chance to speak to you. I am also a good friend of Kristan W and Ashley C. My neighborhood has been following Shannon's battle and we were hoping that you would allow us to adopt your family for Christmas this year. Since you have so much going on trying to single parent, I thought that maybe it would lift the burden and stress on you if you did not have to do any holiday shopping at all. You could just concentrate on spending time with your precious boys! Will you e-mail me so we can talk about this further! Our family has not stopped praying for you! The bedtime thing is so huge! I can just hear Shannon saying "You go Tom!!" Love, Gina teachgr1st@nc.rr.com

Have a great time with the Peeps! I know Mom and Dad are super-excited to see the boys and spend time with them!

Random question - can you send me the pic of Mae pigging out on the corn? Have you found that one on your camera yet?

I have to say that one of my favorite Shannon memories is "birthday week" when she celebrated her birthday for an entire week (or more). I thought this was an excellent idea and have implemented it myself! Also she was always so friendly and so funny - especially at Sunday lunches after church. I'm sure your boys don't remember us at all, since it's been 3 (!) years since we left Raleigh, but we think about them (and you) a lot.

Greetings Tom,

I have a few memories - having been around during that "courtship" year.

1) I was talking with Shannon sometime in Fall 1996 and she mentioned that she was definitely going to marry the next guy she dated. This was before Tom & Shannon were an "item."

2) Shannon, Tom, & I were in our apartment talking and Shannon started talking about fashion and matching outfits. Tom and I were of course clueless and Shannon took us back to her apartment and gave us a brief lesson. My favorite part was Shannon attempting to show us clothes that didn't match. For all of them, Tom & I just looked at each other and said something like "looks ok to me." Shannon was somewhat exasperated.

3) About two weeks after we met Shannon, she came over to our apartment one evening, burst in, and said "Is there a haunted house around here?"

Tom, I have been wanting to dig out and go through my FCS pictures and send to you all, and have not managed to fight the storage building yet. However, I have finally started my letters to the boys, so maybe I will do better now that I have taken that step, as I know Shannon would be thrilled with the idea of the boys having all of these memories of her.
